What Causes Chest Pain With Family History Of Heart Attacks?

Question: 47, 223lbs, 6' (Father had a heart-attack when he was 47, triple bypass at 65, and he is now 80 and in almost excellent health. That is the only familiar history of heart issues in the family...

I have been experiencing a lot of chest pain off and on for the past 3-4 months. I wasn't really concerned until an incident last week which while at work I almost immediately got very sick at my stomach and then become very disoriented and confused. It took 2-3 hours before I started to feel normal again and it took another day or so to feel completely good again. When this event occurred, my admin assistant told me she noticed an immediate change in my color(got very pale) and she noticed that my demeanor also changed to confusion and disorientation. I immediately started sweating and hold cold-hot chills that lasted for around 15-20 minutes. It is now a week later and I was awakened at 3:00AM with a very heavy chest, discomfort in my neck and lower stomach. I was not really sick at my stomach until another 20-25 minutes passed and then that also occurred. The heaviness in my chest lasted for 30-35 minutes until the point that with both the "chest" and "stomach" issues, I had to get out of bed to see if I could get some relief...I am sitting up right now with over-all discomfort and feeling bad, but some of the "chest" pressure is gone. Nausea is still present and the pressure on my chest is still about 20-30% still there. No way I can go back to bed. Still not feeling good enough to lay back down. Anyway, started checking on the internet for symptoms and came across your website. Any information and help would be appreciated...

Brief Answer:
Call for help / Go to ER

Detailed Answer:
Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

You MUST GO THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT - IMMEDIATELY

Any pain at this setting / age should be investigated as HEART PAIN – UNLESS PROVED OTHERWISE –
Absence of pain now at present does not exclude heart problem.
In suspected heart attack, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE – if detected early, an attack may even be aborted / the amount of damage and complications can be reduced remarkably. The most important time is the first few hours.

Your symptoms are highly suggestive of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD).
You SHOULD SEE YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE...
Better be safe than sorry - treated if a problem is found / Happy, if it turns out otherwise

You need to be investigated – EKG, Enzymes (cardiac markers)
You need observation for some time…

Take care
Good luck
