What Causes Calcified Tendonitis Of Both Rotator Cuffs And Delamination Of The Rotator Cuffs?

Question: I have a long history with tendonitis/bursitis in my hands, wrist, ankles, shoulders and hips. Once I have a flair-up it rarely gets better with anti inflammatory medication alone and usually requires a steroid injection and/or several weeks of joint immobilization. Currently I have had calcified tendonitis both rotator cuffs and this has cause significant delamination of the rotator cuffs. My general practitioner and orthopedist are treating these as isolated events. Is it possible that there is a global cause of this inflammation? If so What should we look for or to rule out.
I have a health level of activity, neither excessive nor sedentary.

Brief Answer:
A workup for arthritis is definitely indicated.

Detailed Answer:
hello,
I would definitely work you up completely for arthritis.
The workup should include RF, Anti CCP, HLAb27, ESR, CRP, thyroid function tests and 25 hydroxy vitamin D levels.
If any of these comes out positive then we have an answer else it may be isolated events and not related to a global inflammatory disease.
Generally inflammatory problems respond to anti inflammatory drugs and steroid shots.
Also other signs like back pain and joint swellings further indicate arthritis.
