Brief Answer: Probably caused by fermentation Detailed Answer: Hi and thank you so much for this query. I am so sorry to hear about this rotten eggs smell when your burp. I understand how distressing and embarrassing is to you especially if it should happen in the public gathering. I hope together we would get this addressed! This odour comes from the digestive tract. The most likely cause is fermentation that produces this gas that smells like this. This is often caused and promoted by mixing several different food types at the same time. My advice to you is that you should avoid mixing several different food types at meals. This will prevent further fermentation reactions that produces these gases that you release during burping. There is no need to take any treatment for this as it should normally regress with improved feeding habit. If it should persist beyond a week even after addressing your feeding habit, please let me know. I wish you well and hope this helps. Feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be. Thanks for using or services. Dr. Ditah, MD.
