What Causes Burning Sensation While Passing Urine?

default
Posted on Fri, 16 May 2014
Question: Hi
I was taking the antibiotic for trichomoniasis (which I didn't know I had for months) went to 5 drs the 6th one diagnosed it. Married for 25 years I myself faithful, but had these symptoms for months/years.
My question is took the meds 4 a day for 2 days 8 pills total. Felt much better no sexual contact at all.
Now 3 days after finishing meds it burns when I urinate. Could it have come back? No smelly discharge or pain like I did have. But I do have a thicker white non odor discharge not very much.
What's happening?

Brief Answer:
check for urine infection.

Detailed Answer:
Dear member,
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
If you have taken the antibiotics as recommended then usually the infection will be resolved.
Most of the infections of vagina are mixed infection where along with trichomonas vaginalis there are other organisms. So I presume a broad spectrum antibiotics that cover all of them was prescribed.as you mention the vaginal discharge is not smelly and doesn't itch the infection might have resolved.
Burning sensation while passing urine can be due to urine infection.
Try plenty of oral liquids. If the symptoms don't resolve then a urine examination and culture and sensitivity is to be done.
