What Causes Burning Sensation In Feet And Joint Pain While On Flecainide?

default
Posted on Thu, 21 Apr 2016
Question: my mom has been taking flecainide for a couple of months. She has osteoperosis and RA. She takes it twice daily and the first dose is taken with her breakfast. However the other dose she takes before bedtime with no food. She has been having burning sensations on the bottom of her feet and joint pain in her feet and legs, mainly her knees. Could taking the flecainide without food be causing these symptoms?

Brief Answer:
Symptoms not related to Flecainide.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Flecainide is an anti arrhythmic drug and can be taken with or without food. It is not likely to be associated with burning of feet or joint pains. These symptoms can happen due to osteoporosis or decreased vitamin D3 levels. The burning sensation can be due to electrolyte imbalance or vitamin B 12 deficiency. It is best to consult her physician for a few investigations to detect the cause of her symptoms.
I hope this answers your query.
