Posted on Tue, 10 Jun 2014
Question: i have some very red spots on both of my lower legs. it feels sort of like a burning and after my shower last night several of them were bleeding. I have a picture i could upload if it would help. These are not new, just the redness and burning is, and there are a lot more of them than it used to be. i saw a dermatologist several years ago, and cant remember what he said, but he did not treat it or anything. This is the worst its ever been . ususally there are 4 or 5 spots on my legs.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.
I have read your query and understood your concern.
I have seen the attached pic also. Thanks for the same.

Such persistent red spots may be due to a condition known as vasculitis.
I will advice you investigations for the same:
1) complete blood count including platelet count
2 ) liver function test
3) kidney function test
4) ESR
5) ANA
6) urine routine and microscopy
7) blood sugar
8) viral markers

kindly get back to me with reports of above mentioned investigations so that I can help you to my best.

Otherwise skin biopsy is the confirmatory test for the same. If possible you may discuss about it with your treating doctor so tha final diagnosis is made.

stay healthy.
