    What causes bruises on the ankle in an elderly person?

Question: Q Iam 86 and have brusing around my ankles, my dr doesn't seem concerned but my daughters are. What causes this brusing?

* Likely drug induced side effect of Celebrex which has known as skin rash ,
bruises .

* Recommendations at present

- Stop celebrex temporary & observe for the regression of bruise over 2 - 3
- Ice application 3 times a day .
- Keep the parts clean with antiseptic liquids .
- Local application of turmeric paste will help recovery through its anti
inflammatory actions .
- Avoid sitting on floor cross legs .
- Remain ambulatory with light exercises at home till possible level .
