What Causes Body Tremors While Undergoing Treatment For Lyme Disease?

Posted on Tue, 16 May 2017
Question: Good Afternoon,
I am currently under my second month of antibiotic treatment for Lyme disease after showing a positive western blot last year. I am currently taking three different antibiotics three days a week. I started the new regiment of omnicef and Bactrim two weeks ago. Recently I have noticed tremors throughout my body that have become increasingly worse, affecting my typing, writing, and walking. I have also had multiple nights in a row of waking up to my bed being saturated with sweat. I have never had these problems before and have had no lifestyle changes. As of today I have noticed that at points I am short of breath. I do not feel sick or have any aches other than the joint stiffness I usually have.
I live in a small town and only have an ER open. I have treated rest and fluids but the tremors and sweating are increasing. I am wondering if I should visit the doctor or wait until I have finished my regiment in two weeks?
Thank you XXXXXXX

Thank you. I will plan to do so. Could this be something more the Lyme by chance. Or something you would hint they look for?

Detailed Answer:
Hello! Thank you writing back in healthcaremagic.

Related your concern except the Lyme disease, since that these symptoms have started recently after the antibiotic treatment I suggest to get in consideration as a side effects of these antibiotics.
It is known that bactrim could cause as a side effects unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination, shortness of breath.
Omnicef as well could cause as a side effects sweating, shortness of breath .

I hope my answer helps you.
I wish you a quick recovery.
Regards.
