What causes blurry vision in the left eye and swollen eyelids?

Question: Hello Dr. Rynne, This afternoon, I started to have some eye symptoms that have me concerned. Whilst looking at my phone, vision in my left eye became blurry. It went away shortly thereafter, but then a while later, my right eye started to hurt and feel swollen on my cheek and temple. Now my right eyelid seems swollen and the tear duct in that eye is prominently visible. I am hypertensive, but take medication to control it. I am not diabetic. Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Possible Hypertensive retinopathy Or Glaucoma? Need early evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I understand your concern.

Going by your symptoms, it is extremely important to evaluate your eye thoroughly.

One need to rule out changes of hypertensive retinopathy as well as Glaucoma.

These two issues are quite possible given your age, gender and medical history.

For this, I advise you to have Fundus examination of the eye by Indirect Ophthalmoscopy.

Further management is based on test results.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
