default
Posted on Tue, 1 Apr 2014
Question: I have experienced a number of concussions since I was 12. I am now 58 and have recently had another concussion 8 weeks ago that also resulted in a neck injury. This was my fifth concussion. CT Scans have not noted anything unusual. I however am having episodes of blurred vision and double vision and headache. I have recently had an ophthalmologist check which proved my eyesight is normal function. I am also finding my focus and retention of information isn;t as good.

Brief Answer: Do MRI brain or MRA [magnetic angiography]. Detailed Answer: Hello, I have studied your case. Traumatic concussion injury can lead to raised intracranial pressure and blurring of vision. High blood pressure also leads to blurring of vision so check your BP. CT scan may not detect minor bleed or infact so, When such patient comes to my hospital we usually do MRI brain or MRA [magnetic angiography]. Neurotropic medication like methylcobalamine 1500 mcg daily will help for improving focus. Hope this answers your query.
