What Causes Bloody Vaginal Discharge?

Question: Good morning, I am 24 years old and i have been experiencing bloody/brown color discharge recently ,repeatedly,outside my period. It has been happening for a few months.Usually it disappeared within less than 1 day.I thought that it might have been caused by workout of abdominal muscles (although i have been athlete for all my life and so my body is used to that,the workout is nothing extreme though and i had never experienced that problem before).Last time though it cane in a very weird way: i felt that something like a water is leaking out if me-it was a liquid with a consistency like water mixed together with blood (not thick like discharge usually is). By the time i got to restroom,it was leaking on my legs. Since then i have been having brown discharge,it has already been 4 days and i am scared.I am not wven before my period. I was drinking the night before but i do not know if this information is important. I was diagnosed with HPV so i am not sure that it could be caused by that. What should i do? Yes,my cycle is normal,i am getting my period every 28-30 days every time. My height is 5.11 ft (180 cm) and weight is about 142 pounds (63 kilograms). I still have not checked the pregnancy test because after my last intercourse i got my period normally and moreover it was protected with no breaking of condom. I do not have itching but i do smell little bit different odor.

Brief Answer: Thank you for the followup... Detailed Answer: So you are a healthy, normal weight for height female with regular cycles, minimal to none chance of pregnancy, with a very abnormal vaginal discharge that is watery and blood tinged and with a slight odor. First of all, when you have active bleeding, it starts off reddish and then turns a brownish color. This is kind of what you are describing. I will say that the amount of discharge (running down your leg) is very abnormal. I do not think that this has anything to do with HPV exposure. It is more likely that there is something that is bleeding related to the uterus. This could be as simple as a polyp. Here is what needs to happen: 1. You need a visit with an OB/GYN 2. They need to look at your cervix 3. If the exam in normal, then they need to perform an ultrasound This is not even sounding typical for an infection, so I am thinking that it is more likely to be something anatomic that is the source of the bleeding.
