I have never had allergies before but everyone says pollen is so bad right now? I throw away all my makeup thinking it might be that but its still red!

Brief Answer: Chronic eye infections may resolve by 2-4 weeks. Detailed Answer: Hello Welcome to Health care Magic I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye. It seems from the history that you are having blood shot eye for last 3 weeks. This can be because of chronic infections of eye like chronic conjunctivitis, viral conjunctivitis or chronic allergies like allergic conjunctivitis. Please let me know few more details so that I can answer you more accurately. Whether redness of eyes is associated with itching? Whether redness of eyes is associated with discharge from eyes? Chronic conjunctivitis and viral conjunctivitis is usually associated with discharge from eyes and treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops. Allergic conjunctivitis is usually associated with itching and it is treated by use of anti allergic eye drops. Since you have mentioned that you are not having allergies you might be having chronic conjunctivitis. This may take 3- 4 weeks to respond depending on the severity of the condition. Please do mention the eye medicines you are using so that I can answer you more accurately. If possible do send a photograph of the affected eye so that I can answer you more accurately. Hope the information is helpful to you. Thank you

Brief Answer: It seems like allergic conjunctivitis. Detailed Answer: Hello Madam Thank you for the follow up. Since you are having severe itching of the eyes you need to use anti histamine eye medications. I usually prefer to use anti histamine drugs like olopatadine one drop two times a day. Vigamox is an antibiotic eye drops and it contains moxifloxacillin. You can continue vigamox eye drops as advised by your doctor and use anti histamine eyedrops. Your symptoms will come down with the use of these eye drops. Since it seems like you are having allergic conjunctivitis it may take 2-4 weeks for complete relief. Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you. Thank you
