What Causes Blood In Stool?
Question: Have always had normal bowl movement and still do, but this morning I notice blood( bight red ) sorta separate from stool in toilet. Later in the morning went again which is some time normal for me and all appeared normal. No cramping or discomfit at all, I feel healthy, the only medication i take is benicar for HBP.

Looking at the symptoms and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Straining or hard stools during bowel movement can occasional cause blood tinged stools due to rupture of mucosa. If its separate means, more of external source possibly.
2. However, if it repeats for more than another two or three days, you will need to meet your doctor to rule out hemorrhoids as the cause.
3. Avoid straining, take fiber rich food (fruits and vegetables), chew food properly and take plenty of fluids to soften stools. Mucosa repair will take 4-5 days, and until then you need to watch how you pass stools and what you eat. After that, it will be back to normal.
4. Your medication or increased blood pressure would not cause it. Do watch for blood in stools.
