Brief Answer:
Can be associated with lungs heart gastro intestinal tract or can even be due to mild erosion of mucosa only detailed investigation can find out the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi There,
Thanks for the query.

Hemoptysis is the expectoration of blood from the tracheobronchial tree. It is commonly caused by bronchiectasis, chronic bronchitis, and even lung cancer. The expectorated blood usually originates from the bronchial arteries. When hemoptysis is suspected, it must be confirmed and classified according to severity, and the origin and cause of the bleeding determined. Lateral and AP chest X-ray is the first study(already done) however this is just the initial investigation and a normal chest X-ray does not rule out the possibility of malignancy or other underlying pathology. Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) must be performed in all patients with XXXXXXX hemoptysis, hemoptoic sputum, suspicion of bronchiectasis or risk factors for lung cancer(smoker). MDCT angiography has replaced arteriography in identifying the arteries that are the source of bleeding. MDCT angiography is a non-invasive imaging technique that can pinpoint the presence, origin, number and course of the systemic thoracic (bronchial and non-bronchial) and pulmonary arterial sources of bleeding.Flexible bronchoscopy plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis of hemoptysis in patients with hemoptoic sputum or XXXXXXX hemoptysis. Flexible bronchoscopy once respiratory cause is ruled out go for basic test of cardiology 2d echo cardiogram.few conditions like mitral stenosis can be associated with hemoptysis.2d echo will rule out the condition.

As per your query it can be cardiac or respiratory or even gastric(As bleeding is not related to cough source can be in gastric tract also).
Only way out is to rule out every system one by one by investigating thoroughly.

Thank you.

What is mucosa ? And yeah i like i said i had about 7 normal ekgs in the past couple months , 2 normal chest xrays and 1 normal blood works and a special type of blood work witch tested for the heart , gullblatter , liver and something else , all test came back clear ? So why this now like are the doctors missing anything ? I went to the hosptial then it was packed so im going in the morning , i asked a nurse what could be the cause and she said usally from the lungs but where theres no couch she said most times with people with the same thing she said they dont find the cause , , i was having chest pain for a couple months and they told me it was a muscle isue , the pain have pretty much gone now i must say it is 90% better then when it first happen , i also have high anxiety over this , but still get chest pain and shortness of breath from time to time , they wouldnt send me to do any cardic test they didnt think it was needed , but i guess now with the blood in my spit they might take it a bit more serious , i know they are gonna do anothwe chest xray and if nothing shows up i know they wont send me , what are your thought on all of this ?

Brief Answer:
Proper evaluation required.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again dear,
You have to go for right tests.Tsts which are meant to rule out cause of hemoptysis.
Ekg liver function tests have no role in diagnosing patient with hemoptysis. They ae just general basic tests.
X ray is a priliminary tests for chest and as expained above often misses the cause of hemoptysis.
Visit a Respiratory medicine doctor and a cardiologist discuss my initial reply with him/her.
X ray ,EKG etc will not show any problem.Further investigatiins are required.

Mucosa is soft layer of cells lining our stomach esophagus etc(Pink thing you can see).

Brief Answer:
Follow up.

Detailed Answer:
I am sorry you are disappointed but sinus infection is diagnosed clinically. One need not perform 7 EKG's, multiple X rays and blood investigations to diagnose a sinus infection.

Hemoptysis is a symptom which shouldn't be ignored unless a complete evaluation is performed. Based on what you described, you are not thoroughly checked. If blood stained spits continue, I will urge you to change hospital / doctor.

Regards
