Brief Answer:
an infection usually

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

in most cases this is caused by an infection. A urinalysis may provide additional clues. Symptoms are expected in such cases (common lower urinary tract infection symptoms like burning during urination, etc). Urine cultures may become positive.

The cause is rarely a malignancy but in all patients older than 50 years, a digital rectal examination and PSA measurement is recommended. The rest of the evaluation depends on the symptoms and findings of lab testing.

In some cases no cause can be identified and this condition is self-corrected within a couple of months.

I hope you find my comments helpful!
Kind Regards!

Hi, I have been heavily bloated the past 4 days with cramps mainly on my right side (I think it seems that my ovaries are swollen) and in my back as well on the right side. Blood and urine tests show that everything is normal but the pain is umbearable. What could this be? Could it be related to upcoming pregnancy? Thanks

Hi. I am having a urine problem. I researched over Internet and found that my symptoms are similar to Overflow Incontinence. I consulted a urologist, he took Urine Regular Examination test. All the values in test were normal but one value which is PH was 7.5 (normal was 6.0 to 7.5), the doctor prescribed me Wellcodox capsules (2/day for 5 days), if my symptoms are 100% match with overflow incontinence then why I am having normal value in urine test?

Well, i went to the doctor again and she said she didnt think i had a UTI but gave me some antibiotics for 3 days to see what was gonna come back on the lab report. She now asks me for another urine sample saying i have too many enzymes in my urine. What could be wrong? Im at my wits end!
