Brief Answer:
Gall stones and hyperacidity...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The usual causes of bloating and stomach ache after a meal are related to gall bladder and hyeracidity. To be precise, you will need evaluation to rule out gall stones as well as ulcers primarily. I recommend you see a local doctor and discuss about the problem. He/she can order for an ultrasound abdomen and liver function test along with routine blood count.

Hope this helped. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Thnx for response. You mentioned about Gall bladder stone. What are other symptons of the same? Can it be diagnosed by ultrasound or any other test like blood or urine test is reqd?how ulcers detected? You mean ulcers in abdomen?

You mentioned abt lever ultrasound as well? Can this be lever related too?

What is most likely out of 3- 4 probable reasons you mentioned and likely line of treatment?

Brief Answer:
Abdominal pain most common symptom...

Detailed Answer:
There is a considerable overlap between symptoms of gall stones, ulcer and GERD. Abdominal pain is the most common complaint. Other symptoms include bloating, nausea, and vomiting. There are no specific symptoms. Hence we can differentiate conditions only by clinical examination and investigation.

Ultrasound scan most often will be able to diagnose presence of gall stone and other gall bladder pathology. It can also help us understand structural liver problem if any. Presence of ulcer can be ruled by endoscopy only.

Blood test have little relevance with regards to diagnosing these conditions. However it can support the diagnosis.

Therefore before you consider investigations, it's worthwhile to visit a doctor, a surgeon. He/she can examine the abdomen and guide you with tests.

Treatment will be based on the diagnosis. Until you get this sorted, life style and diet changes will help.

Hope this answers your question.

What is GERD? What could be structural problems in lever which you referred? What could be remedy for structural problems of lever. Actually this problem started all of a sudden since last 2 weeks. There was no problem at all before this. If gall stone is detected, what could be remedy?
What blood tests are recommended for diagnosis?

Brief Answer:
Blood test is a supportive investigation, not the gold standard...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

1. GERD, gastritis and ulcers are the same spectrum of condition. The primary pathology is increased stomach acid - hyperacidity.

2. By structural liver problems, I mean condition such as fatty liver, liver cirrhosis and others. Ultrasound scan is useful tool to detect these condition. That being said, the liver problem mentioned here is not the likely cause of your symptom. These liver issues are chronic condition and your symptoms are of acute onset.

3. Gall stones may be managed conservatively with medications. However some cases will need surgical treatment.

4. As mentioned earlier, blood test is only a supportive investigation tool. The primary investigation of choice will be the ultrasound scan.

Hope this answered your question.
