What Causes Blisters On The Toes And Feet?

Question: I get unexplained blisters every summer. They may start very small but increase in size. It takes a long time for them to heal. They are always on my toes or feet.

Hello,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.I can understand your concern.

In my opinion you are probably suffering from pompholyx or anhydrotic eczema.

It is a type of internal eczema which mostly occurs in summer.Many times sweat ducts get blocked and becomes enlarged leading to blisters.

It will be important for you to soak your feet in cold water.This will give you soothing effect and also prevent formation of new blisters.Use of soft footwear will also help.

I will advise you to avoid rupture of blisters as far as possible.Intact blisters will heal early.

Topical antibiotic cream will help only when blister is ruptured.On intact blisters you can apply a steroid and antibiotic cream like fucibet. It is available on counters.

These are not small blisters on the bottom of my feet. I may get one that starts out small but increases in size. I also found a couple on my neck which has happened before but they clear up quicker than the ones on my feet. They come up on the tops of my toes and back of heels which one would think are friction blisters but they aren't just the same places they would occur.
