What Causes Bleeding After A Vaginal Biopsy?

default
Posted on Mon, 31 Aug 2015
Question: I am 9 weeks pregnant and the doctor stated I had to do a vaginal biopsy. I did the biopsy on Friday and I started to bleed vaginal on Sunday. Is this normal for a biopsy or should I be worried that I am having a miscarriage?

Brief Answer:
Most likely from biopsy site

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic
I understand your anxiety related to the issue.
This seems to be bleeding from the biopsy site only especially if the bleeding is not associated with abdominal pain.
Just keep a pad overnight or at least for 7-8 hours in day time and see for soakage
In case only less than 1/3rd of the pad is soaked and there seems no pain abdomen then nothing to worry.
But in case bleeding is more than this or stays for more than 3 days from now then visit your gynecologist for examination.
All the best.
