Question: I'm 72 yrs old, my blood Suger was 130 this morning, I have normal activity till this afternoon while I was cutting my grass I fainted and lost my balance and barely made it inside struggling to keep my balance,
I ate cracker and drink water and checked my Suger it was 76 . I ate some sweet and water and slept for 30 minutes to wake up and feel much better what that indicate ? Should I check it out medically or what's your advise

I appreciate your concern

Yes, the black out or syncope episode is a matter for concern. I doubt whether its entirely related to the lowered blood sugar. If the morning sugar was done in a fasting state the 130 is high. 76 is low but not as low as to cause syncope. Blood pressure also needs to be measured and HBA1C levels should be done if the fasting blood sugar is high on two occasions repeatedly , tested 2 weeks apart. An EKG, blood counts and metabolic profile including blood sugar and electrolytes can be advised as part of the workup in consultation with your doctor.
