What Causes Black Mucus Discharge Along With Cold?
Question: hello.. I am one that never ever gets sick.. anyway, just coming off a cold and feeling so much better. However this morning, when some dried mucus came up, it was blackish .. not green,yellow or clear but blackish.. ??? what the heck. I have been congested in my sinus and was taking dayquill and a nasal decongestant

What is mucolytics?
I did forget to mention that i used nasal spray for a few days when i had sinus congestion.. it was not the saline solution but the "extra strength sinus relief" and it burned when i used it at first but it did allow me to breath easier.
I will use the saline solution insteald of the sinus spray but if you can tell me what mucolytics is so i can make sure i have some or purchase some..
