What Causes Bed-wetting In A Child?

default
Posted on Wed, 17 Sep 2014
Question: Hi,
I have a daughter who is 5 and a half years.
Even now, she wets the bed in the night once or twice. Is it because she is lazy to get up during night or is it a problem with some kids, how can I stop this. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
It may be mainly due to anxiety.
Sometimes inherited gene may also be responsible.
Delayed bladder maturation, deep sleep, small bladder, constipation, low ADH level, are other important causes.
Till the age of 6 years you need not to worry as the problem may get resolved by that time.
Otherwise you may have to seek medical attention.

Till then you can try following treatment-
Ask the child to pee before bedtime and 1 hr after going to bed.
Covering the mattress with plastic.
Restricting a child's fluid intake 1 hr before bed.
Bed-wetting alarms.
And some medications after consulting a doctor.

Laziness will not cause the problem.

Hope i helped you.

Brief Answer:
it is sensor system.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow up.
Alarm is having moisture sensor attached to pajamas of children which activates the alarm at the start of urination.
Alarm is attached to the shoulder of pajamas.
Thus getting the child or parent wake up and encourage the child to use the toilet.
It is very safe and effective to be used by the child.
It comes in both forms with wire or wireless.
Hope i helped you.
