Question: my daughter has been falling frequently recently. She does not feel dizzy, does not trip over, and does not feel she is losing her balance. In other words she has no warning.

Brief Answer:
The condition is known as ataxia

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I would insist you to take it on a serious note. The first step would be to get her blood pressure checked. However, your daughter needs a thorough neurological examination and I suggest that you visit a doctor for the same. Based on the evaluation your doctor would be able to suggest proper investigations and can intervene accordingly.

Feel free to write back.

Thank you for your response. I will take your advice and schedule an appointment with a neurologist. However, my first message was brief and I would like to give you more information in case this affects your diagnosis.

I had said that she was not taking any medication for this problem. This is true. However, she is taking medications for other problems. These are; Depakote, Paxil, Trazodone, Suboxone, and Clonopin (one to two day). She has been taking them for over two years but only started falling a month ago.

Brief Answer:
Neurological opinion needed.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Sorry for not being able to respond faster.

It is quite clear that she is taking neurological medicines. I am not aware of the underlying pathology. But either the underlying pathology has aggravated, or the medicines have been giving adverse effects. In either case a neurologist needs to be consulted.
