What Causes Ascites While Having Umbilical Hernia?
Question: my husband is 72 he is an all day drinker he has had ascities for many months he now has a belly button that is protruding out and no ascities what happens if the fluid does not come out?
I meant his belly button from a previous hernia has popped out and is very large.

he's refusing to go to the Doctor and said he is fine nothing hurts him. His stomach does not look like he has ascties but your right about the umbilical hernia. Why doesn't the ascites build back up in his stomach and what could happen if he doesn't get it fixed. He also has frontal lobe damage from an anuryism years ago. He's extremely lazy and won't take a shower it hard on me at times. Is his condition life threatening what could happen? I think he is suffering with the beginning stages of Dementia.
