Posted on Fri, 23 Sep 2016
Question: I just ate a doughnut and now I have a tickle in my throat everytime I breath that makes me want to cough. it just came out of nowhere. I have thrown up twice since and only white mucus comes out. I was feeling fine and then suddenly seconds after finished the doughnut I started to cough and I felt this tickle in my through and lungs everytime I breath.

And when I hold it comes up anyway as an urge, and forces me to cough.

Brief Answer:
time to get an ENT Evaluation..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

From your symptoms and descriptions, it's quite apparent that there's only two possibilities at this instance i.e. an acute allergic reaction or some part of the doughnut got aspirated somehow in the respiratory passage and now causing those symptoms..

Either one of them, requires a prompt clinical examination (preferably by an ENT specialist) under direct visualization (Laryngoscopy) to rule out any underlying laryngospasm and acute allergic response..

Please try to find out if your allergic to any of the substance containing in the doughnut (mostly it's the toppings on them which turns out as the culprit)..

If your having any medical access, then please take a Tab RANITIDINE 150 mg stat along with Tab DOMPERIDONE 30 mg stat, it'll provide symptomatic relief from the nausea and discomfort..

Meanwhile, please be vigilant for any redness/ itching/ hives over any body part/ breathing difficulties as they indicate allergic response only..

If unable to find the ENT doctor, please simply call for help (call 911, if there's no one to accompany you), or just visit your nearest ER/Urgent care where they'll promptly get a local examination of the affected area along with a Chest X-ray and some prompt remedies (Cortisone shot followed by lignocaine spray and syrup Benadryl if suspected allergic response, followed by once/twice daily course of Ranitidine/Pantoprazole etc.)

Please don't wait up any more and get it investigated at the earliest..

Later on Steam inhalation twice daily will help in symptomatic relief..

Please try to find out the content of the doughnut and try to avoid them in future also if suspected allergic to..

Let me know how you stay in the due course..

Take Care
Kind Regards
