Question: My grandson has a rash that started on upper back and shoulder blade area about 3 days ago. It has spread to lower back and seems it is spreading on to shoulders. He has complained of it being itchy. What could this be?

Seems like a viral exanthema or it could be a heat rash. I suggest you to apply a soothing lotion e.g Calamine lotion. In addition I suggest a tab cetrizine for symptomatic relief from itching.
