If you are not circumcised, it might be possible balanitis. Candida thrush could be another reason or allergic reaction to detergents or soaps you use.

Brief Answer:
Check your partner/get diabetes testing...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

1. It is normal for fungal infection to have good days (of thriving) and bad days (subsiding).

2. During the bad days, you should be taking anti-fungal cream (e.g. clotrimazole or econazole) as prescribed by your doctor. By the way, such cream can be taken over the counter.

3. If you have only one partner, then, should get her checked for possible vaginal infection (candida or bacteria) and get her treated when you are also having your treatment.

4. If you have more than one partner, then, it is better to take preventive measures (wear condoms) when having sex.

5. I also advise my patients to check for diabetes when they have on-and-off problems with candida infection as you.

6. What you eat and drink matters. Avoid foods high in sugar or high in calories as they might increase chances for candida infection relapse.

Hope it helped!
