Brief Answer:
An enlarged heart is usually permanent in this age group

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Have you undergone echocardiography? Usually, heart may enlarged on chest x-ray which many a time is not accurate. This occurs due to image distortion and enlargement due to x ray beam. So to confirm whether it's really enlarged or not, I would recommend echo cardiography if you have not undergone. Then if it's confirmed on echo, then treatment may be administered depending upon the cause. General causes other than error, are coronary artery disease, dilated cardiomyopathy, fluid around the heart, which would cause symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query.
