Question: I have been seeing a anti aging Doctor now for about 2 1/2 years last April I noticed I could not smell Gasoline, alcohol, cat urine, and soon after almost everything. My taste also has diminished alot. Could it be the meds my doctor has me on? Testosterone 1/2 ml every four days. Anastrozole .5 mg every 4 days also. nature thyroid 97.5 mg in the morning and 48.75mg in the afternoon. Progesterone 0.25/0.5 at bedtime ? I told him about it but never heard anything from him about it.

Brief Answer:
Loss of smell (anosmia) is related to drug usage.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir

I can certainly understand your concern.

I have worked through your query in detail.

Yes smell sensation cam be hampered by these drugs particularly the steroidal drugs.

They directly act on the brain and impair smell sensation.

This condition can be reversible with cessation of these drugs.

Post your further queries if any.
