Brief Answer:
Need to be on ACE/ARB

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

It is usual to have microalbuminuria in people with long standing diabetes. If it is controlled at this point the long term complications can be avoided. This is what you should do

1. Continue salt restricted diet
2. Avoid red meat and high protein diet, it is toxic to the kidney
3. Exercise daily and reduce weight if you are over weight
4. You need to be on a tablet from the class known as ACE/ARB. I usually start my patients on Tab Telmesartan, it is best drug to protect the kidneys and the heart from long term damage.

Microalbumin in urine will not cause reduced power or itchy skin. I recommend that you approach a physician for a general health check up for allergies. Get blood eosinophil and serum calcium levels done.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Brief Answer:
Dont worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back

Having microalbumin is nothing to be worried about. More than diet I recommend that you are on ACE/ARB medications, it will definitely control your microalbuminuria. Restricting salt will not change the amount of proteins lost in the urine.

Your diet should be
1. Low salt and low calorie diet
2. Avoid foods rich in starch and carbohydrates like vada, dosa, raagi, etc
3. Avoid food rich in fat like vada, pakodas, etc
4. You can have all types of foods except mangoes and apricots.
5. Papayas are good
6. More than diet, exercising is of most importance

Brief Answer:
Diet chart

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I am happy you asked me for a diet chart. It shows a lot of positivism in you to lead a healthy life.

Breakfast

1. Idly 2. Dosa 3. Poha 4. Karabath

Avoid
1. Poori 2. Excess amount of chutney 2. Vada 3. XXXXXXX bath 4. Bonda soup 5. Pongal

Lunch

1. Rice with sambar and rasam ( in less quantities) 2. Chapathi with dal 3. Not more than 2 tandoori roti

Avoid
1. Papad 2. Masala papad 3. Pickle

Dinner

Have only chapathi and curry.

Do not eat raagi, sweets. Avoid juices and restrict coffee and tea to less than 3 per day.

It is better if you ask specific doubts about food items, I can help you better. The best approach is to meet a dietitian for a chart
