Question: I have allergic reactions that cause extreme phlushing warming in my face stomach an colon/rectum area. I found gluten to be a trigger.had it under control.recently ate canned salmon. And had another attack. Attack is always accompanied by uncontrollable shaking for a good hour. And on the verge of passing out. I've always have allergies seems like from minor to severe when this happens. Generally feel bad most of the time.forearms get real tight also. And neck and shoulders. My question is whether or not this is normal. And if there is another cause?

Brief Answer:
Symptoms probably caused by allergy!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I have reviewed your information fully and this is suggestive of a allergic reactions. Most importantly, this can be tied to a food that when eliminated brings your symptoms under control. I will suggest that you identify all substances that provide these symptoms and eliminate them from your diet.

In all, symptoms clearly explained by allergies. Keep away from all identified triggers.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.

Yeah this has been going on for over 6 years. I also have a uquenchable thirst.that is the more I'm hydrated the better I feel.less tension in in my neck and shoulders. I need to start at the beginning when this first started happening 6years ago.i could work in the heat, used to do road construction for 7 years. I always stayed in shape, no smoking or drinking.except for soda sweet tea and the occansinal energy drink.loved my job loved working outside. Doing road construction. I mostly swung a hammer all day driving in steel for the road.an 8lb sledge hammer. Most of the time with my right arm.my arm was strong I was the fastest there at what I did.over 6years of swinging a hammer. (take that in mind.) came home one weekend my right shoulder arm very tense..I did some inverted push-ups. And heard and felt a snap" sound from my back. Finished my push-ups a minute later. I could feel my heartbeat in my head.barely made it to the phone. Ambulance came.my heart racing and blood pressure very low.laying on my tile floor going in and out of consciousness.i had leaked out of my sinuses a pool of histiame.or lymp fluid. Whatever it was a pile the area of a paper plate.medics got there gave me two I'vs . Said I was dehydrated. Now was I just dehydrated?? And that's why that happened?or did expelling all of that fluid make me dehydrated?or is the whole incident and my current problem all an affect of that "snap" I heard and felt. Seems like a cause and affect moment. They tell me it's ptsd I have. I just don't understand how I can be tense in those areas for over 6years now.is it possible it's something else?a pinched nerve? I went to the chiropractor soon after this event they did X-rays and said on my right side a vertebrae was resting upon another.they corrected me over a few months.felt a little better. But the symptoms are always there.was i possible misdiagnosed with ptsd? Why it causes me to be tense every day in virtually the same area.? I find it too much of a couidience.one time I fell on the area and it had the same affect as the gluten reaction..what am I to think.i take 1mg klonipin a day and 60mg of Prozac.this helps me sleep through the night.otherwise I wake up all tense and a panic like state.once again...from my vertebrae or from "ptsd" is there a nerve or lymphnode possible torn or still damaged.. and if that's the case how do I find that out?is it possible? Please share I don't know who reads this.but I need answers so I have a better quality of life. Thank you for taking the time if you've made it this far.please help.

Brief Answer:
Are you still able to work?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Are you still able to work? Are you in actual pain or just feeling tensed?

Given your work, dehydration was the possible cause with low blood pressure and unconsciousness. If this were rather the snap only, it would have been pain, increased blood pressure and increased heart rate rather.

Let me hear from you before concluding on whether this is possible a PTSD or not. However, if you continue to dread the incidence that happened when the ambulance carried you to the hospital, it is possible you might have developed huge fear at that time, a measure risk factor for PTSD.

Waiting...

Still able to work but work for myself not full weeks usually.no pain just tension that makes me feel woozy.and throws my equilibrium off when really bad.i can pop" that spot on my vertebrae giving it temporary relief.and a chiropractor does more.when I pop it I can feel it travel to my neck like a spasm.but feels good.(taking away the tension.i can do the same by taking my arm in a clockwise motion over my head. I believe there was ptsd because after the incident I'd try to talk about it and break out in panick. But can't help but feel there's a secondary source.being a mechanic by trade I'm often used to seeing several things wrong with a car that affect the same unit I'll be working on. Just can't help but think that's the deal with me.ive even had an MRI done though.

Brief Answer:
I think it is PTSD!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The incident and your reaction to it accompanied by your present perception makes PTSD more likely. I will suggest that you continue with prescribed medications for this. Surely, they provide relief, though maybe not 100%.

I understand that many different disease conditions can cause the same symptoms but I have not found any other more plausible cause here.

I wish you well and keep me updated.
