Question: dear sir, i am taking encorate cr 300 tab for three months and ilatop 10 for one month due to slight Dizziness and fainting that happened three months ago. My doctor had done EEG, CT Scan and blood profiling due to this incident. all report came out as normal. i have not experienced fainting after that .Only heavy headedness two times in three months. I had a problem of hyper tension a year ago and holter monitroring was done for that. that report also came out as normal.

i used take eption 100 mg for 4 years in childhood days due to 2 incident of fainting and stopped taking the medicine from year 2003. Now , Please advice whether i need to continue with Encorate Cr 300 tab as my doc is suggesting for long time. Also i am facing acute acidity if i stop taking ilatop 10. Please advice

Brief Answer:
I need further details.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
I understand your concern.
See, you are bring treated for seizure disorder. However it is not essential that a person who has seizure disorder gets that in EEG, CT scan. But no where in your history you have mentioned that you had any seizure activity.
Dizziness is not a seizure. It must be accompanied by some other signs like jerking, tounge bite, loss of consciousness, up rolling of eyes, frothing , Urine or fecal incontinence that your doctor must have elicited in the history and started you on anti epileptic treatment.
Let me know about that incidence in detail and if you had any of the above features. Also mention what reason your doctor gave you for which he considers that your's was a seizure activity.
As far as Acidity is concerned, this is a common side effect of these medicines.
You can continue Ilaprazole for the same.
Stay Healthy.

dear sir, i had not experience any of the symptoms mentioned by you. My co passengers told me that i fainted for 3- 4 secs and a sound was coming out of my mouth. Then i regained consciousnesses slowly . I was sweating and the head was heavy for 3-4 minutes. after that incident , i did not have loss of consciousness for last three months but heavy headness two times in suffocating environment(local trains). For the last one month no issue has been faced by me after the weather is cooling due to winter. My doctor ruled out cardiac problems.

Now since i used take Eption in childhood , shall i continue encorate cr 300 as i dont want to do that because this hits my confidence very hard.

Also , i have already taken Ilatop 10 for one month. Is it safe to continue PPI for more than a month ?

Whether any other PPI group( like omeze or Pan -D) antacid can be continued since Ilatop 10 is not readily available at all medicine shops.

Warm regards

Brief Answer:
You should continue.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
In your main query you didn't mention that you had seizure problem in childhood.
I suppose you should continue the medicine for 2 years atleast. After that, a trial of slow tapering and withdrawal can be given.
As far as Ilatop is considered, you can take any of the PPI available in the market that you mentioned.
See, no allopathic medicine is 100% safe but rarely these PPI cause side effects like Vitamin B12 deficiency.
Still they are widely used without such fear. So, you can carry on with the PPI.
If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
