Question: I have endured severe right leg pain and cramping of toes on both feet, worse on right. Cramping is worse early before I wake up, but sporadically when I move my feet in various positions. I found what feels like a tendon on the back lower leg that feels knotty and just found one, similar but in the front of my right leg. My right leg hurts all the time and much worse when driving and moving my food from brake to accelerator. Feels like my whole leg might cramp up. Sometimes my right leg hurts from worst near the ankle, but the entire lengty of the leg.

Brief Answer:
Self-care Activities that might help

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.

After going through your suffering, it seems you have developed muscle spasm (cramp). The cramps are caused by hyper excitability of the nerves that stimulate the muscles. Cramps are painful spasms in a muscle and are often caused by overuse, dehydration, or nutritional deficiencies.

Self-care Activities that might help prevent leg cramps include:
• Drinking plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration
• Stretching your leg muscles or riding a stationary bicycle for a few minutes before you go to bed
• Massaging the cramped muscle with your hands or with ice
• Walking or jiggling the leg
• Taking a hot shower or warm bath
• Foods such as bananas, potatoes, prune juice and dried fruit may be helpful in relieving muscle cramps

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care

This answer does not address the tendon issue, nor does it do any more than answer what i've already found on the internet. I already drink plenty of water, do stretches and take potassium magnesium supplements.I thought I was paying for a more in depth look at the other unusual symptoms. If this is a web site for clueless dummies then that's not what I thought I was paying for. .

Brief Answer:
Might be suffering from Achilles tendonitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam,

Beside the cramps, you might be suffering from Achilles tendonitis. Tendon on the back of lower leg is achillis tendon and knotty feeling is due to associated spasm.
For this you have to give rest to your ankle.
Reduce your physical activity for some time.
Do stretching and strengthening exercises of the calf muscles
Icing the area when in pain
Wear a brace or compressive elastic bandage to prevent heel movement
You can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation.

Warm regards.
