What Causes Abnormal EKG After A Biopsy?
Thanks XXXXXXX
The last word is said by the cardiologist, in these cases
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM. I understand your concern.
In every case and in every age, whenever a surgical procedure is carried out with amaesthesia involved, an EKG is done before the operation. By protocol, a cardiologist interprets the EKG so the patient is "good to go". In your case, I am assuming the machine itself depicted some non-specific changes in the electrical registration of the heart and a cardiologist will see it and decide whether they are abnormal or not. Plenty of disorders may produce an abnormal EKG finding, not to say all minor or major problems with the heart exert their specific or non-specific findings in this exam. Therefore, the cardiologist who will actually see this EKG, will give clearance for the operation. However, I would recommend you not to worry, as I think the procedure is on and the primary problem will be surgically fixed.
Best of luck with the procedure. I hope I was helpful. Feel free to ask follow-up questions. I would be happy to help.
Regards,
Dr. Meriton
