What Causes Abdominal Pain, Burping And Chest Pain?

Question: I am a 20 year old female. This past few days I have been having abdomen pain, sometimes on the right but usually on theleft. Usually it worsen after I eat but it may also occur anytime. I have also been burping alot and there is also sometimes chest pains . I have also done a medical check up and it indicated that my phosphate level is 1.75mmol/L. Is this related?

Hi,

From your description, you are suffering from abdominal pain, burping as well as chest pain. You also found to have an elevated phosphate value. Other reports attached did not reveal any serious abnormality.

Now, the borderline elevated phosphate level is incidental finding and not related to abdominal pain or other symptoms. The pain, burping as well as chest pain are likely due to gastritis / acid reflux. I would treat you with a course of proton pump inhibitor drug like pantoprazole 20mg half an hour before food for couple of weeks. I believe this course will be able to ease your complaints. If they don't, you should get an endoscopy.
