What Causes Abdominal Cramps, Nausea And Diarrhea When Diagnosed With Petechiae?

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Jun 2016
Question: I was diagnosed with petechiae last week. The doctor did some blood tests. They ask seemed normal except for the SED one which was high.

I thought my rash was getting better... It's all over my legs and seems to be spreading as now I have some on my lower back and stomach.

A couple days after that appt my stomach starting hurting badly. I had severe abdominal cramping, nausea and diarrhea. Then after a couple days I was fine. This evening it's starting up again but with less cramping and more nausea. I'm also burping. Eating seems to make it worse so I try not to.

My appt to see a dermatologist is Wednesday. I'm wondering if I should go into the ER or just wait until Wednesday's appt.

Brief Answer:
Either leukocytoclastic vasculitis or henoch scholein purpura

Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it seems to be due to either henoch schonlein purpura or leukocytoclastic vasculitis.
You will have to consult a dermatologist and get yourself evaluated.
It is not an emergency and you can wait till Wednesday.
Meanwhile you can consult an ER and take symptomatic treatment for your symptoms.
