default
Posted on Fri, 26 Sep 2014
Question: Hi, I have had a res/white patch on my foreskin for the past 5 months. I am not sure where it has come from and it hasn't disappeared since. There is no pain other than the occasional tingle and no pain when urinating. There has been no other change. I am worried as to what it is and why it hasn't gone

Brief Answer:
It is due to Balanoposthitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day,

The cause of redness is likely to be due to Balanopothitis (inflammation of glans and foreskin). The redness is due to chemical inflammation induced by smegma(whitish secretion normally secreted) along with super added fungal infection

I would suggest the following

1. Hot Seitz Bath: To a tub of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of dettol. Sit in it for 15-20 minutes. Pull back the foreskin as much as possible. Clean it gently.

Do it twice a day. Take refreshing bath after it.

2. After bath , dry the area thoroughly. Pull back the foreskin and apply equal mixture of Clotimazole(anti fungal) and Betnovate Ointment. Apply it thrice a day

3. Clean the Penis and foreskin thoroughly after passing urine every time

Do get back to me anytime you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take Care
