Question: My left eye just started flashing a bright arc-shaped light on the left side of my eye when I rotate my eye from left to right. What could be causing this? Is it something that needs immediate attention?

I can certainly understand your concern and have worked through your attached query in detail.

This symptom is called Flashing of light or Photopsia

These symptoms may reflect a retinal detachment.

Hence it's advisable to get it screened at earliest via fundoscopic eye examination.

Likewise, it's also important to rule out hypertension or Glaucoma eye conditions
