Question: I fell last night and hit my head on the wall. Instead of a bump or knot , I have a soft spot , mushy feeling.
No dizziness, it hurts only when touched. I am 74 years old, just didn't know if that was normal.

This is normal since sometimes there may be a soft hematoma with indentation for few days after injury. So if there wasn't anyloss of consciousness, nausea, vomiting and if you don't take any blood-thinners/anticoagulants, then there is no need for doctor's urgent visit.
You should apply cold compresses, rest and take nonsteroid painkillers (PARCETAMOL).
