What Causes A Small Cyst Like Bump In The Vaginal Area?

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: hi.
alright. I am going to try to explain this to the best of my ability, couple of days ago while i was showerig i felt a small cyst on the back side of my vagina, like the other side of my labia, but its like a centimeter away from my clit, but on my labia. (it does not hurt at all, no discomfort when i sit or walk, and it is relatively small.) no pus, nothing, i have not been sexually active since august of last year. Should i worry about it? Im currently in egypt and don't want to go to a gynocologist here, i'm waiting until I go back to XXXXXXX I can honestly even send a picture of the cyst if you absolutely need me too. thank you!

hey Dr.
i do apologize if the pictures arent clear enough but it is kind of hard to take a clear picture haha. Also, when i tried moving my labia to take the picture, it popped a little bit and pus came out. (White) but no blood whatsoever. Like i said, no pain, no discomfort, nothing. i appreciate your help!!

Brief Answer:
Need to take following treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Thanks for attaching images. I have reviewed them.

According to my opinion, they look like pus or fluid filled small bump or blister and occur due to bacterial infection, infected hair follicle (from recent shaving), too much sweating, irritation from tight underwear or pantyliner etc. As you had last sexual relationship 8 months ago, then possible STD has been ruled out.

Treatment: 1) I suggest you to take Oral antibiotic like Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice daily for 5 days and apply FUCIDIN-H cream around that area.

2) Wear loose fitting pants and avoid tight fitting jeans, pants, g-strings.

3) Bathing in bicarbonate of soda - Bathe your vulva once or twice a day for 5-10 minutes in a basin or bath.

4) Don’t use perfumed soaps and bath products. Use 100% cotton sanitary pads and tampons.

5) Lean forward when passing urine - this helps to avoid burning or itching (if occurs) and always wipe or XXXXXXX from front to back.

6) Maintain genital hygiene properly. Wear clean and cotton underwear. Keep the area always dry.

Hope, I have answered your query. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish your good health and take care. Good luck.

hey dr.
honestly id like to thank you for your help. You are the greatest online doctor ive had so far to be honest. I just have a question. Honestly, does what i have look like herpes? I popped it. It really annoyed me. I know it was a stupid idea but it just looked weird and i thought it wasnt a big deal. But honestly i have not had a sexual partner in 8 months. and im pretty sure the guys were clean. But right now, it doesnt hurt at all, it just looks open. But it is not coming in clusters, it doesn't hurt when i urinate, and it doesnt even hurt. Except for when i touch it. no blood whatsoever. No scabbing. It just looks like a typical blister that popped. And do you even get hair in that area? Can it really be an ingrown hair? XXXXX

Brief Answer:
Not herpes. May be ingrown hair.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Welcome back again.

As per information, it DOESN'T look like genital herpes as it is NOT in cluster, NOT painful or itchy, NO painful urination and last sexual intercourse done 8 months ago.

It is mostly ingrown hair or infected hair follicle (from recent shaving). Sweating, tight underwear, irritation from local bath products are associated factors.

I suggest you to take above said medicine and apply the cream locally to get some effective result. I think that it will solve your problem.

Hope, it helps for your information. Good luck and take care.

hey dr. just wanted to let you know i have been using the medicine u prescribed me and it feels a little better. It just gets irritated when i cross my legs, and it rly started itching last night while i was out, again, probably because I was wearing jeans and underwear. but I came home and took everything off and slept without it, woke up and felt A LOT better. Im going to start sleeping without underwear to let it breathe. i just wanted to send you another picture of it open wounded. I know you said it doesnt look like herpes but I am kind of freaking out so I sincerely apologize for nagging about it. I just really want to be sure you know? Also would you reccomend me showering with cold or hott water in this case? Like what would be better due to irritation? And how long will it take to heal do you think? I will also stop shaving for a while. Thank you so much.
