What Causes A Short Umbilical Cord In Fetus?
Question: I wanted to check if there could be any specific reason for short umbilical cord in the foetus, i lost my baby at 34 weeks of my pregnancy. I had an induced labor had a vaginal delivery. Can the short umbilical cord be detected in 3D or 4D Scans?

A short umbilical cord is a congenital malformation and is not related to a specific reason. Short cords are associated with fetal movement disorders and intrauterine constraint, as well as placental abruption and cord rupture. These have been blamed for the inability of some fetuses to deliver vaginally.
Assessing cord length prenatally is not possible. It cannot be detected on 3D or 4D scans.
You should have at least 6 months rest for your body to gain strength and heal properly before trying for the next conception.
