What Causes A Recurring Rash On The Finger?

Question: I have this reoccurkng rash on my finger from my wedding rings. I have stoped wearing them alot and I also paint clear nail polish on the inside of them which seems to help some, but the rash comes back. I didnt even sleep in my rings and i woke up with this rash on my finger. It looks like little tiny blisters. I read online there may be nickel in the white gold and it could be a nickel allergy.

I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
I have gone through your complaints as well as reviewed the attached photograph.
You have developed contact dermatitis to the rings.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily for 7-10 days and take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once daily at bedtime for 5 days.
Besides this to avoid such reactions in future you need to stop wearing rings as it is an allergic reaction to nickel or some metal in the rings.
Otherwise it will keep on recurring.
