What Causes A Lump On The Testicle?

default
Posted on Wed, 24 May 2017
Question: I am 31 year old w/m. I have a small, hard, dot like lump on my right testicle. I noticed it over a year ago and immediately went to my doctor and had an ultrasound. The results showed it was nothing. I have no pain or any other symptoms but have been worrying about it again. I really cant tell if its grown any. I dont think it has, im not sure. There is no history of testicular cancer in my family. My question is, if it was a tumor or cancer, would it have grown significantly over the past year and a half or so?

Brief Answer:
It is a Sebaceous cyst.Do not think of Testicular cancer at all .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

A hard lump on the scrotal wall since 1 year can not be anything except what is called as Sebaceous Cyst .

The scrotal skin is rich in sebaceous glands and hence prone to get more sebaceous cyst due to accumulation of sebum beneath the skin.Normally they fade away without treatment however need to get excised if get infected or increase in size ,

Though it is small since it is bothering you too much I would suggest you to get it excised in Toto (Completely along with the sac)

Consult qualified General Surgeon for clinical evaluation and get it excised .It is a simple surgery done under local anesthesia as a out patient procedure and offers permanent cure

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Brief Answer:
Will you please upload photograph of your Testicle

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up and clarification .

A small lump in testicle can not be cancerous in nature as Cancer of the testis results into gross enlargement of testicle which is painful.

Since ultrasound Scanning of testis is reported to be normal The precise nature of the lump can be judged only on clinical examination by a qualified Urologist .
