default
Posted on Mon, 12 Jan 2015
Question: Hello~I am a 51yr female w/hysterctomy over 5yrs ago now..... have recently developed left sided pain-almost on my pelvic bone. no swelling, redness-only dull/catching pain infrequently during the day/night. often after sitting for short period or walking or laying in bed. No recent injuries, illnesses. Thanks for any guidance~

this has been ongoing for about 3 weeks, I do have a non-productive dry cough at times during the day. of notice, I also have noticed some gastric reflux at the end of the day and usually sleep propped at a semi incline position in bed. I have not experienced any changes in my bowel or bladder.

Brief Answer:
could be Diverticulitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

I understand your concern and feel sorry for the pain you are going through. By your symptoms, I could think of Diverticulitis. This disease comes with other vague symptoms which is generally not noticed like nausea, chronic constipation, bloated feeling.

If I were your doctor , I would have asked you to go through a series of tests like complete blood count, urinanalysis and a CT scan to come to confirmed diagnosis. In case of any infection, antibiotics are given.

In the meantime please eat a high-fiber diet. Whole-grain breads and cereals, brown rice, and fresh fruits and vegetables can all be part of a high-fiber diet.

Hope this helped.Feel free to ask more.
