Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

It would help if you can upload a picture of the rash in order to give you a clear answer.

I see that you have mentioned that you have no other associated symptoms. However, I would like to confirm certain specific details like fever/headache/neck pain associated, recent exposure to anybody with similar symptoms, any new medication/food tried recently, any recent history of traveling.

Please follow up with the required details

Brief Answer:
Possible Diagnosis: Pityriasis Rosea or insect bite

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

I have not yet been able to see the picture of the rash.
However, with your symptom description, the likely possibility is Pityriasis rosea. Pityriasis rosea begins as a single erythematous rash and later spreads to different parts o the body.Likely cause of pityriasis rosea is considered to be viral.
Another possibility is a reaction to an insect bite.
Confirmation of Diagnosis is by physical examination.

Treatment for both the conditions is the same.
You can take Benadryl 25 mg up to 4 times daily.
Use Hydrocortisone 1% ointment to relieve itching
You can also use Menthol-Phenol based creams to relieve itching.
Apply moisturizing lotion containing aloe and vitamin E.
Continue Oatmeal baths.

Pityriasis Rosea needs 4-6 weeks to completely clear up.

Hope this answers your question
