Question: My jaw cracks in the morning when I yawn. Is that a problem?

answer to questions 2 thru 5 and 7: NO
2.Have noted this over the last 2 to 3 years. It is not particularly painfull, just irratating.
6.Have had both hips replaced, 3 basel cells removed, metoprolo for blood pressure, prevacid for acid indigestionear wax removal every couple of years

As per your answers it seems like there is some disturbance in the functioning of jaw joint leading to crackling sound..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like Panoramic X-ray has to be done, that will help in ruling out the cause and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now, avoid excessive mouth opening like during chewing, yawning etc..
Do warm compresses over the jaw joint..
Take soft diet..
