Welcome at HCM
I am Dr Saad Sultan and will be answering your query . I have read and understood your health concerns.

Any history of trauma to neck?
Have you suffered from it before?
Any history of swallowing difficulty?

No, I don't think it is due to any ligament or muscle problem.
In my opinion, if there is no swallowing difficulty associated with it and no pain , then you should not be worried about it much. You can schedule an elective appointment with ENT surgeon for proper clinical evaluation and correlation.
If there is pain and swallowing difficulty associated then see your doctor in ER .

Hope it helps.
Feel free to ask any time.
