Question: I asked this question yesterday with a response from a Dr. My one image I uploaded was not that great so I uploaded two more. I have a bruise that is approx. 4 inches above the back part of my left leg. It has a white center with a raised bump in the middle. Not sure what it is. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Bruise

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns.

You are concerned about a bruise on the back part of your leg just above your knee. Your description tells me that this is just a normal everyday bruise. Nothing nefarious. It can't be a ruptured Baker's cyst because they occur right behind and below the knee not above. It's not a varicose vein rupture because the varicose veins don't usually occur that high up the leg and in that location. I think you bumped up against something and just caused a bruise. the white center is that area that was traumatized and the lump underneath is the collection of blood. The circle around is where the blood is leaching our from the central clot. I would recommend the usual treatment of heat and time. There will be no residual problem from this bruise. I can reassure you this is normal and to be expected.
