Brief Answer:
UTI could be due to various causes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your concern.

UTI could occur due to various causes.
UTI in males of your age, usually occurs due to prostate gland enlargement(BPE).
Some with stone,or bladder lesions also have recurrent UTI's.
Diabetes makes you more prone to getting an UTI.

The cause for UTI is diagnosed after doing various tests.
The treatment will depend on the cause.

You're having uncontrolled diabetes and U/S scan shows cystitis.
No other findings of the scan are given, for an expert opinion.
You should mention the following :
1. Urine routine,culture and ACR.
2. blood routine,creatinine,PSA,HbA1C,platelets,LFT and electrolytes.
3. remaining details of the scan, with residual urine and if a TRUS has been done.

Once all the reports are available,i can give you an expert opinion.
Drink about 10 glasses fluids daily.
