Brief Answer: Descriptive Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for the query. Skin, eye or nose allergies can be because of various reasons and it is not usually point out a single factor. But most common is dust and pollens, something in the work place environment or something which the person uses for body (like perfumes, clothes etc). Dryness is not the usual symptom of allergy of the eyes or nose and the other way round, watering and itching are the common symptoms. For skin, redness of skin, rashes and itching are the common symptoms. All kind of allergies are best tackled by avoiding exposure to the allergens but specific allergen may or may not be found. Still if one remains cautious about the start of symptoms, he/she can point out the offending thing which resulted in symptoms. There are allergy tests available which can point to specific allergens, but role is more in skin allergy that in nasal allergy. Otherwise skin allergies need to be tackled with antihistaminics and eye allergy with anti allergic eye drops or while nasal allergy is usually treated with intra nasal steroid sprays. If the things do not get under control, short course of oral steroids may be required. Feel free to ask another query. Regards

Brief Answer: Descriptive Detailed Answer: Thanks for the query. Anti histaminics do not finish allergy and for that matter the is no drug which finishes allergy for ever. All medicines which are used for allergy act on one or the other site in the pathway of allergy, each medicine has its effectiveness for a fixed period but none has effect forever. So, for acute symptoms, antihistaminics are used to control symptoms. Other groups of drugs used for controlling symptoms like steroids and azathioprine and cyclophosphamide (cytotoxic drugs) are also used but these should not be used without supervision of doctors. Steroid sprays like fluticasone does not cause increase in blood pressure and can be safely used in hypertension and so can the inhalers be. For itching in whole body an higher dose of fexofenadine (180 mg) will help in twice daily dose. Feel free to ask another query. Regards
