What Causes PVCs And Painful Pins And Needles In Face?

default
Posted on Sat, 23 May 2015
Question: I feel like I have PVCs or pacs. I have had tests done. Holter, stress, ekg, echo. I have a structurally normal heart they said. So the PVCs or pacs are benign they say. However. These PVCs feelings have never showed up on the monitor. I have felt the thump before. But these feel like a shotgun to my chest. I have been researching other people's description of PVCs and mine are way worse. They stop me dead in my tracks. Take my breath away. Pins and needles in my face. They hurt. They happen once or twice a day. Intermittently. I could go a week or a month without anything. Or then days with 4 or 5 a day. Is there anything other than PVCs that could make me feel so bad. It's almost like a heart hitting flutter and electrical shock through my whole body

Brief Answer:
Features could be due to anxiety.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I really appreciate your concern for the PVCs.

I have read your query diligently, in view of the normal tests like Holter monitoring, Stress tests, EKG, and Echocardiography I am of the opinion that your problem is due to palpitations that might occur due to anxiety.

In stressful situations, caffeine intake, smoking, exercise etc increased levels of Adrenaline are released into the blood responsible for an increased heart rate and palpitations.

Since PVCs have not been demonstrated on your Holter monitoring or EKG, I have the feeling that you have some sort of palpitations that could be due to anxiety, stress, caffeine intake or exercise.

So, in such circumstances drugs like Beta blockers are very effective in controlling the symptoms. You may have to visit your treating doctor for the treatment.
Try to avoid the stressful situations, excess coffee intake, and smoking.

Hope the explanation given above has helped you in knowing the possible causes of palpitations.

Wishing you best of your health.
